The Provincial Government of Northern Samar has been recognized for its “commitment to governance and community empowerment,” winning the Regional Award and receiving national acclaim in the Parangal: Gawad ng Kahusayan sa Komunikasyong Pampubliko. The province was named Regional Winner and honored as a national runner-up in the Public Service Campaign category, with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. presenting the award.

The accolade was awarded for the province’s Kauswagan Caravan, a platform for public-private cooperation and inter-agency partnerships. The initiative integrates government programs and private sector contributions to deliver “services to communities, exemplifying innovative communication and governance strategies.”

The Parangal Awards celebrates campaigns by government units and agencies that utilize “effective communication to fulfill their mandates and provide public services.” Along with the recognition, Northern Samar received a Php 50,000 grant to further enhance the Kauswagan Caravan and expand its reach.

Since its inception, the Kauswagan Caravan has served nearly 50,000 families, or 190,000 individuals, across 179 barangays in the province. It has engaged 113 stakeholders, including 45 from the business sector and 10 non-government organizations.
