Cebu lawyers provide legal aid and health support to inmates at BJMP-Mandaue

By Xander Ledesma

The Cebu Lady Lawyers Association (CLLA) and the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) Cebu City Chapter conducted a legal aid and healthcare outreach program at the BJMP Male Dormitory in Mandaue City.

The program included free legal consultations for inmates and a flu vaccination drive organized in collaboration with the City Health Office. Lawyers provided guidance on ongoing cases, while medical teams addressed health concerns to improve the welfare of persons deprived of liberty (PDLs).

This initiative highlights efforts to support marginalized groups and address challenges such as overcrowding and limited access to legal and healthcare services in detention facilities.
