MANILA – Three weather systems are forecast to bring rains to several areas in the country on Friday.
The intertropical convergence zone affecting Southern Mindanao will bring scattered rains and thunderstorms over Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi.
The same weather conditions will prevail in Bicol Region and Quezon this time due to the easterlies.
Moderate to heavy rains in those areas could result in flash floods or landslides, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) warned.
The northeast monsoon or “amihan” affecting Northern Luzon and Central Luzon will cause light rains over Cagayan Valley, Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, and Ifugao, and isolated light rains over Ilocos Region, Central Luzon, and the rest of Cordillera Administrative Region.
PAGASA said the rest of the archipelago will experience isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies.
Moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas will prevail across Northern Luzon.
Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate coastal waters.
Meanwhile, PAGASA said no low pressure area is being monitored for possible tropical cyclone formation. (PNA)
