Project Angel Tree leads gift-giving to 100 Malabon kids

In celebration of the upcoming Christmas season, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and the local government of Malabon, with the leadership of the Public Employment Service Office (PESO), organized a gift-giving event on December 4 at the Malabon Sports Center for 100 young Malabueños who were previously been identified as child laborers—children who were forced to work to help support their families.

Mayor Jeannie Sandoval led the gift-giving, which included rice and Noche Buena packages. In her message, she expressed her hope that the event would serve as an inspiration for the children to continue “chasing their dreams.” The event featured booths offering free treats such as ice cream, popcorn, taho, and cotton candy,

The Project Angel Tree Gift Giving initiative aims to provide gifts to child laborers and their families.
