Police ops net arrest of 40 drug suspects in Bicol

The Police Regional Office-Bicol (PRO-5) arrested 40 drug suspects and seized nearly PHP 3 million worth of illegal drugs during weeklong operations from November 4 to 10.

According to a report released on Monday, PRO-5 spokesperson Lt. Col. Malu Calubaquib said that a total of 26 anti-drug operations were carried out across the region’s six provinces and one component city, resulting in the confiscation of 429.059 grams of shabu.

Albay recorded the highest amount of illegal drugs seized, with a total value of PHP1.25 million, followed by Masbate with PHP 768, 400, Camarines Sur with PHP 510, 326.40, Camarines Norte with PHP 339, 320, Naga City with PHP40,460, and Sorsogon with PHP 5, 100. No illegal drugs were seized in Catanduanes.

Brig. Gen. Andre Dizon, PRO-5 Director, has directed continued operations aimed at identifying and targeting the primary suppliers of illegal drugs in the region.
