The 2024 Negros Island Organic Farmers’ Festival and Terra Madre Visayas, now on its 17th year, opened to a strong reception with 101 exhibitors showcasing organic produce and promoting the slow food movement. The event, which runs until November 23 at the Provincial Capitol grounds, recorded PHP 314, 507 in sales on its first day.

He also highlighted the partnership between local and international stakeholders, fostering cooperation for a sustainable agricultural future.

The festival is also hosting various forums, food talks, and taste workshops to further engage the public on these topics. In addition, the province, known for its excellence in organic agriculture, is positioning itself to host the 2027 Organic World Congress, a significant international event focused on organic farming, which will be decided in December 2024.
