Government disaster response teams have been dispatched to Catanduanes to provide much-needed aid to residents affected by Super Typhoon Pepito (international name: Man-yi) and other recent typhoons.

The Office of Civil Defense (OCD) Bicol Assistant Regional Director Jessar Adornado confirmed that various government agencies have sent personnel and supplies to the province. These include food and non-food items, as well as air assets for relief transport.

DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian, who is currently in Catanduanes to oversee the response efforts, assured that the government will provide adequate assistance to the affected population. He mentioned that additional food packs will be delivered daily until Saturday and that financial assistance will be provided to help families rebuild their homes.

The Department of Labor and Employment will also provide emergency employment assistance, while the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development will offer housing assistance.
