Flood levels recede in Malabon and Navotas

Floodwaters from severe tropical storm Kristine have begun to recede in the cities of Malabon and Navotas as of Friday, bringing much-needed relief to the affected residents. In Navotas, Mayor John Rey Tiangco visited local evacuation centers and observed that some families had already started returning to their homes as the weather improved.

Efforts to assist those impacted by the flooding continue. Local government units are actively distributing essential supplies, such as food and water, to the displaced. With conditions improving, evacuation shelters are gradually being closed, but authorities remain on alert, monitoring the situation closely.

Although the immediate danger has passed, officials are assessing the extent of damage to homes and infrastructure. Residents are urged to stay cautious as localized flooding may still pose a risk during the cleanup phase.
