BINI, SB19 Enter 2027 Grammy Race as P-Pop Pushes Further Into Global Spotlight

P-pop heavyweights BINI and SB19 have officially submitted entries for consideration at the 2027 Grammy Awards, marking another major step in the continued rise of Filipino pop on the international music stage.

Both groups are aiming for recognition in the newly introduced Best Asian Pop Performance category, a development that gives Asian artists a clearer lane in one of the world’s most watched music awards. For P-pop, the category opens a bigger door — and BINI and SB19 are walking through it with two of the genre’s strongest fanbases behind them.

BINI submitted “Unang Kilig” for Best Asian Pop Music Performance and is also seeking consideration for Best New Artist, a category that could place the Nation’s Girl Group beside some of the most closely watched rising acts in global music.

SB19, meanwhile, submitted “VISA” for Best Asian Pop Music Performance and “Lawless” for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, continuing the group’s push to position P-pop not only as a regional sound, but as a serious contender in mainstream international music spaces.

A Grammy submission is not yet a nomination, but it signals ambition — and visibility. For Filipino music fans, the moment is another reminder that P-pop is no longer just fighting for attention at home. It is now entering the rooms where global recognition is decided.
