BAYAMBANG, Pangasinan — The local government of Bayambang honored a proud Bayambangueño for his outstanding achievement in the 2024 Civil Engineers Licensure Examination, where he ranked third nationwide.
The recognition ceremony took place after the local government’s flag-raising event on December 9, 2024, at the Balon Bayambang Events Center. Flores was presented with a plaque of recognition for his outstanding achievement.
In his heartfelt acceptance speech, Flores expressed gratitude to the local government of Bayambang, his family, and the educators who played a crucial role in his success. He acknowledged his father, Bonicafio Flores, and the teachers from St. Vincent Catholic School and Pangasinan State University (PSU) for shaping his character and pushing him toward excellence.
“Isa sa naging fuel ko to motivate and inspire myself is yung kalagayan sa buhay. Iba talaga ang gigil ng gustong magsurvive sa buhay. You will grip harder until you reach yung pangarap mo,” Flores shared, reflecting on the personal struggles that motivated him to achieve his dreams.
Flores also discussed his personal transformation from a student who once lacked motivation to one who strived to be a topnotcher. “I wasn’t very eager to study before, but when reality hits you, everything changes. My two alma maters molded me from a ‘Bahala-na-si-Batman’ type of student to an ‘I-want-to-become-a-topnotcher’ kind of student,” he said.
Flores, a graduate of Pangasinan State University’s Urdaneta City Campus, scored an impressive 92.25% in the November-December 2024 licensure exam. He humorously added, “I didn’t graduate with Latin Honors, so I topped the boards instead. Thank you, PSU!”
Bayambang Mayor Niña Jose-Quiambao expressed the community’s pride, saying in a Facebook post, “Today, we recognized and awarded the outstanding Bayambangueño who ranked 3rd in the November 2024 Civil Licensure Examination. Congratulations, Engr. Bernard Bonin Flores for your inspiring feat! We are proud of you, Kabaleyan!”
The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Regional Office 1 also congratulated the successful passers, wishing them continued success in their careers and encouraging future exam takers to follow their lead.
The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) administered the November-December 2024 Civil Engineers Licensure Examination, which saw 6,835 successful candidates from a total of 18,436 examinees. The exams were conducted on November 18, 19, and 30, and December 1, 2024.
