By Matthew Go

Batangas Vice Governor Mark Leviste distributed relief to residents affected by Severe Tropical Storm Kristine, which devastated parts of the province.

Leviste visited Barangay Sampaloc in Talisay, where landslides triggered by the storm killed at least 18 people and left hundreds displaced. Over 6,000 families across the province were affected, with extensive damage to homes and infrastructure.

The vice governor’s team provided food, hygiene kits, and financial aid to affected families, as local officials continue efforts to support those left homeless. Authorities emphasized the need for vigilance during typhoon season as Batangas begins recovery and rehabilitation efforts.
