3 weather systems to dampen parts of PH

MANILA – Rains will continue to prevail over parts of the country including Metro Manila on Wednesday due to three weather systems.

The shear line affecting the eastern sections of central and southern Luzon will bring scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms over Metro Manila, Calabarzon, Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, Aurora, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, and Catanduanes.

Heavy to intense rains are forecast over Quezon and Camarines Norte, while Aurora will experience moderate to heavy rains.

Eastern Samar, Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, and Surigao del Sur will also experience scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the easterlies.

Rains caused by the northeast monsoon or “amihan” will prevail over Cagayan Valley, Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province and Ifugao.

Moderate to heavy rains could result in flash floods or landslides, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) warned.

PAGASA added that the easterlies will also bring isolated light rains across the Ilocos Region, Central Luzon and the rest of the Cordillera Administrative Region.

The rest of the country will have isolated rain showers or thunderstorms caused by the easterlies.

Moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal waters are forecast in Luzon, and the eastern sections of the Visayas and Mindanao.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas, PAGASA said. (PNA)
