LINGAYEN, Pangasinan – Vice President Sara Duterte underscored her campaigns on security, education, and anti-corruption during her visit to this capital town today, where she led the distribution of gift packs in celebration of the 89th anniversary of the Office of the Vice President (OVP).

A total of 2,000 beneficiaries received 10 kilos of rice and assorted canned goods during the event. The recipients represented various sectors, including informal sector workers, vulnerable groups, displaced families, women in difficult circumstances, KALIPI members, parents of children in conflict with the law, and displaced or inactive OFWs.

In her speech, Vice President Duterte expressed gratitude to local officials, including Pangasinan Governor Ramon Guico III for accepting them in Pangasinan,  and to Lingayen Mayor Leopoldo Bataoil, and to the local government unit for their support in organizing the event.

She also thanked the people of Pangasinan for their continued support of the Duterte administration and for helping advance the programs of the OVP.

The Vice President took the opportunity to discuss her three main advocacy priorities: security, education, and anti-corruption.

Duterte emphasized the importance of peace and order in communities, drawing on her experience in Davao City. She explained that the local government there prioritized peace and order. People will be afraid to work or engage in business, to go around, or send their children to school if their peace and order is not ensured, she added.

She urged residents to support local law enforcement and avoid engaging with illegal activities such as drug dealing and gambling. She stressed that a safe environment encourages business investments and job creation.

Duterte highlighted the role of education in providing equal opportunities for all, regardless of social status. She shared a story about a wealthy and a poor student both graduating with nursing degrees, underscoring that education is key to improving one’s life and securing employment. She urged young people to value education as a pathway to a better future.

The Vice President also addressed the issue of corruption, calling on voters to choose leaders based on their actions rather than promises. “Balikan nyo ang pangako ng pulitiko tapos isa-isahin nyo. Tinupad ba n’ya ito?,” she said.

She warned against vote-buying and corruption, stressing the importance of electing leaders who demonstrate integrity and deliver on their commitments.

“Let us work together for the security, education, and welfare of all Filipinos. These are the foundations for building a better future for our country,” Vice President Duterte said in closing.
