Sangguniang Panlungsod of Las Piñas holds session for Pilar Fire Incident

The Sangguniang Panlungsod of Las Piñas held its 5th Special Session on November 22, 2024, at its Session Hall to address the fire that occurred on November 19 at the Pag-Asa Compound in Barangay Pilar. The session, requested by Mayor Mel Aguilar, focused on providing immediate assistance to the affected families and implementing measures to prevent similar incidents.

Vice Mayor April Aguilar, who presided over the session, emphasized the importance of swift action to support the victims and ensure their recovery. The council discussed relief efforts, including the distribution of food packs, temporary shelter, and medical assistance. Long-term strategies such as community education on fire safety and infrastructure improvements were also tackled.

The council adopted a resolution to allocate funds for the relief and rehabilitation efforts and instructed relevant departments to expedite assistance to affected residents.
