Puerto Princesa prepares for 2024 ICF Dragon Boat World Championships

Puerto Princesa City is set to host the 2024 ICF Dragon Boat World Championships from October 31 to November 3, with 27 international teams confirmed to compete at the city’s Baywalk.

Mayor Lucilo Bayron confirmed on Monday that 27 teams from different countries are registered for the event, which opens on October 31 with a ceremony at 8 a.m., followed by the 2,000-meter race at 9 a.m. An awarding ceremony will conclude the day’s events.

The 500-meter heats and semi-finals will begin at 9 a.m. on November 1. The 500-meter finals will take place at 9 a.m. on November 2, followed by an awarding ceremony. At 2 p.m., the 200-meter heats will commence.

On November 3, the 200-meter semi-finals and finals will start at 9 a.m., leading into the Awarding and Closing Ceremonies. A Celebration Party featuring team performances is scheduled for 6 p.m. that evening.

November 4 is set as Departure Day for visiting teams.
