11 Palawan women scholars pass Physician Licensure Exam

Eleven government-funded medical scholars from Palawan passed the October 2024 Physician Licensure Examination, enhancing the province’s healthcare capacity.

The new licensed doctors are: Dr. Niña Angela L. Castro (Narra), Dr. Hazel Grace P. Ladica (Cuyo), Dr. Precious D. Medina and Dr. Sharmaine Kit S. Sagucio (Quezon), Dr. Chianne Quim L. Paredes and Dr. Grezielle S. Valdespina (Roxas), Dr. Ana Marie S. Molleno (Aborlan), Dr. Jasmin D. Madriñan, Dr. Marion T. Magno, Dr. Cait Raina E. Sendaydiego, and Dr. Princess Monic Q. Velasco (Puerto Princesa City).

Atty. Christian Jay Cojamco, chief of the Provincial Information Office, confirmed that they represent the 13th batch of medical scholars under Palawan’s SPS Alay sa Kabataan Educational Program, which supports local students pursuing medical careers.

Program Manager Maria Victoria Baaco reported that five of these scholars received an additional ₱70, 000 each in Review Assistance to cover exam-related costs.

To date, the program has produced 96 licensed doctors, many of whom are fulfilling Return of Service commitments in Palawan hospitals. Governor Dennis Socrates recognized the scholars for their contributions to local healthcare services.
