The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) Mobile Service program has served more than 55,000 professionals in the Bicol region, making essential PRC services more accessible, particularly to those in remote areas such as Masbate and Catanduanes.

During the Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas press briefing on Tuesday, PRC-Bicol Regional Director Sharo Lo emphasized that the mobile service initiative is part of the Marcos administration’s Bagong Pilipinas program, aimed at improving public service delivery.

“The PRC Mobile Service brings our services closer to professionals in underserved areas, reducing travel time and costs, and ensuring convenience for those who need assistance,” Lo said.

Since its inception, PRC-Bicol has conducted nine mobile service events, allowing professionals to renew licenses, file applications, and access other PRC services without traveling to regional offices.

Lo noted that the initiative has significantly reduced long wait times and travel expenses, making it more cost-effective for professionals to avail of PRC services.

In addition, PRC-Bicol has partnered with the Social Security System (SSS) under the KaSSSangga Collect Program, which provides job order workers and their families with social security coverage. Benefits under this program include sickness, maternity, unemployment, retirement, disability, and death benefits, as well as access to various loan programs.

“This partnership reflects a commitment to expanding social security coverage for public sector workers, particularly those in precarious employment, and highlights our dedication to employee welfare,” Lo added.

Lo reaffirmed PRC-Bicol’s support for the Bagong Pilipinas initiative, pledging to continue enhancing public service delivery and ensuring that professionals in the region have easier access to essential services.
