The local government of Manaoag is intensifying preparations for the 100th Canonical Coronation of Our Lady of Manaoag, set to take place on April 22, 2026, a Wednesday.

Mayor  Jeremy Agerico Rosario led a coordination meeting with the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC) to ensure an organized, safe, and efficient flow of activities during the anticipated event.

Officials outlined plans for traffic rerouting, designated parking areas, medical stations, and police deployment in anticipation of more than one million devotees and visitors.

P/Col. Arbel Mercullo, provincial director of the Pangasinan Police Provincial Office (PPO) confirmed that additional police personnel will be assigned to key locations and pilgrim routes to maintain security and order.

Medical services will also be strengthened in collaboration with the Philippine Red Cross Pangasinan Chapter, Region 1 Medical Center, the Provincial Health Office, and rural health units from neighboring towns.

Coordination with various MDRRMOs and the Office of Civil Defense Regional Office will enhance disaster response and crowd management, while private volunteers will assist in traffic control.

Designated parking areas include a four-hectare provincial government property behind Manaoag Central School, selected schools, and private lots such as the Sta. Monica Land Development Property to accommodate the expected volume of vehicles.

The coronation will also mark the start of the town’s annual feast, which is expected to draw thousands of devotees from across the country. The local government said additional announcements regarding the historic celebration will be released in the coming days. (Ahikam Pasion)
