MANILA – The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) opened a City Post Office at the Malabon Sports Center on Monday.
In a news release on Tuesday, it said the newly-opened post office shall accept and deliver mail and parcels; sell postcards, stamps, and other philatelic products; and send electronic Postal Money Orders.
“I would like to thank Malabon City LGU (local government unit), headed by our friend Mayor Jeannie Sandoval, for allowing us to collaborate with the City Government for the opportunity to bring the Post Office services closer to the public,” Postmaster General Luis Carlos said.
“I believe the Malabon City Post Office can do so much in bringing daily convenience in the lives of the Filipinos by means of this partnership,” he added.
PHLPost is set to expand its capabilities to take advantage of the fast growing e-commerce sector by enabling Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in rural areas not served by private logistics companies to access new markets.
It is also capitalizing on “Postal Trinity” — the Modernized ZIP Code, the establishment of a Barangay (village) Postal Station, and a Kartero App or the K-App — to meet stakeholders’ rising demand. (PNA)
