Halloween celebrations are heading to the beach this year as Parokya ni Edgar and Sponge Cola prepare to headline Hallowave 2026, a day-long festival combining OPM performances, costume parties, and island activities at Boracay Newcoast on October 31.
The two Filipino rock bands will lead the evening concert at Boracay Newcoast Beachwalk, scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. Their performances will be joined by DJ sets from Sofia Miguel and Tom Tuason, with a pyromusical display and late-night rave extending the festivities beyond the live band performances.
Unlike traditional Halloween parties centered on nighttime celebrations, Hallowave will feature activities beginning as early as 5 a.m. with the Hallowrun, followed by a Sunrise Big Breakfast at the Boracay Newcoast Convention Center at 6 a.m. Visitors can also participate in outdoor activities, including ATV rides, e-foiling, and fitness sessions, or explore attractions such as the island’s Keyhole rock formation.
Families traveling with children will have their own share of Halloween activities. Trick-or-treating begins at 2 p.m. across Belmont Hotel Boracay, Savoy Hotel Boracay, and Chancellor Hotel Boracay, followed by a Family Rave Costume Party at 4:30 p.m. featuring Super Rave Friends. A food bazaar opening at 10 a.m. along the Beachwalk will provide additional dining options throughout the day.
According to Maia Israel, area general manager of the destination’s hotel properties, the festival is designed to bring together visitors of different ages through a full schedule of entertainment and recreational experiences. The combination of daytime adventures and evening concerts is intended to appeal to families, groups of friends, and music fans celebrating Halloween on the island.
For tourists planning an extended stay, participating hotels are offering Hallowave 2026 accommodation packages that include lodging, breakfast, priority concert access, admission to scheduled festival activities, and use of hotel facilities. Scheduled shuttle transfers between Boracay Newcoast and D’Mall are also included.
The celebration will take place in Barangay Yapak, on Boracay’s eastern side, away from the island’s more familiar White Beach party strip. Guests traveling from Caticlan can reach the venue through the usual island transfer arrangements, followed by an e-trike ride or hotel transportation.
With two of the country’s recognizable OPM bands leading the concert lineup, Hallowave 2026 is positioning itself as a Halloween destination for visitors seeking more than a costume party. From early-morning activities to live rock performances, the October 31 event will bring a full day of music and entertainment to Boracay.
