Marcos maintains majority trust and approval ratings in April survey, says OCTA

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. continued to hold majority trust and approval ratings among Filipinos in April 2025, according to the latest Tugon ng Masa survey released by OCTA Research.

The survey, conducted from April 2 to 5, showed that 60 percent of respondents expressed trust in Marcos, while 59 percent said they were satisfied with his performance. Both figures declined slightly compared to November 2024 results, with trust falling by five percentage points and satisfaction by four points.

OCTA Research reported that despite the lower ratings, most adult Filipinos still conveyed trust and approval for the President. The decline was largely attributed to a drop in ratings in Mindanao, the political base of former president Rodrigo Duterte.

Marcos’ trust ratings remained high in northern regions, with 92 percent in the Ilocos Region, 87 percent in the Cordillera Administrative Region, and 83 percent in Cagayan Valley. The President also performed strongly among the poorest socioeconomic group, with 66 percent of Class E respondents expressing trust.

OCTA noted that Marcos’ trust and approval ratings were significantly higher compared to other top government officials, including Senate President Francis Escudero, House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez, and Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo.

The survey involved 1,200 adult respondents nationwide and has a ±3 percent margin of error at a 95 percent confidence level.
