Sen. Rodante Marcoleta said he will not run from the law after the Sandiganbayan issued a warrant of arrest in connection with the plunder case filed against him over the alleged ₱75-million campaign donation issue.
Marcoleta maintained that he is prepared to face the charges through the proper legal process, stressing that he has always respected the courts and would comply with whatever orders are issued against him. His message was direct: he will answer the allegations, but he will do so in court.
Following the warrant, Marcoleta turned himself in to authorities at Camp Crame to undergo the required legal proceedings. The move comes after days of public attention surrounding the non-bailable plunder case filed by the Office of the Ombudsman, which centers on campaign contributions questioned by state prosecutors.
For Marcoleta’s camp, the surrender is being framed as a sign that he is not hiding from scrutiny. While the case now moves deeper into the judicial process, the senator’s position remains clear: he denies wrongdoing, respects the law, and intends to confront the accusations head-on.
