The provincial government of Iloilo has commended the efforts of barangay service point officers (BSPOs) for their crucial role in delivering health services and providing accurate data from the ground level.

During a recent congress held at the Iloilo Convention Center, Governor Arthur Defensor Jr. emphasized the importance of data-driven governance and acknowledged the BSPOs’ contribution in achieving this goal. “All of the province’s programs and direction are data-based, and this could not be realized without your accurate data,” he stated.

The congress brought together 2,489 volunteer BSPOs, who were recognized for their dedication and commitment to public service. Provincial Population Officer Ruel Von Superio praised the BSPOs as “pillars of strength, compassion, and leadership” in their respective communities.

In a significant development, Superio announced an increase in the allowance for volunteers, including BSPOs, from PHP4,000 to PHP5,000. This increased allowance will be implemented starting from the first week of December.
