Diesel Prices to Rise by ₱1.20, Gasoline to Drop by ₱0.30 Starting October 27

Filipino motorists will see another round of mixed fuel price adjustments beginning Tuesday, October 27, as the Department of Energy (DOE) announced a ₱1.20-per-liter increase for diesel, a ₱0.30-per-liter rollback for gasoline, and a reported ₱0.50-per-liter increase for kerosene. The adjustments come as millions of Filipinos prepare for the Undas holiday travel period, when demand for transportation to provincial destinations and transport terminals typically increases. The new rates are scheduled to apply during the October 27 to November 2 pricing period.

The latest changes follow last week’s substantial movements in pump prices, when diesel increased by ₱2.60 per liter, while gasoline dropped by ₱4.30 and kerosene declined by ₱1 per liter. The DOE attributed the latest price movements largely to fluctuations in global petroleum markets amid concerns about possible supply disruptions linked to tensions in the Middle East. Diesel prices remain particularly sensitive to international supply pressures, while gasoline prices have moved lower amid changing regional market conditions. The newly announced adjustments are also smaller than several industry forecasts released before the government’s final figures.

The increase in diesel prices could place additional pressure on public transport operators, freight companies, delivery services, and agricultural businesses, which rely heavily on diesel-powered vehicles and equipment. Meanwhile, motorists using gasoline-powered vehicles will receive a modest reduction in fuel expenses. For perspective, a 40-liter diesel refill will cost approximately ₱48 more, while the same volume of gasoline will cost around ₱12 less, assuming the announced adjustments are fully reflected at the pump. Drivers are encouraged to check posted prices at their preferred fuel stations, as actual retail rates and implementation times may vary by company and location.
