OPM pop-rock band Cup of Joe is extending its upcoming “Symphony” concert to two nights after tickets for its original December 3 show at the Smart Araneta Coliseum sold out. The group added a second performance on December 4, giving more fans an opportunity to experience its first concert featuring a live orchestra. The shows will bring together Cup of Joe and the 32-piece Orchestra of the Filipino Youth, presenting the band’s music through orchestral arrangements. Produced by Viva Live and directed by Paolo Valenciano, the concert marks another milestone for the Baguio-based group as it continues expanding the scale and production of its live performances.
The announcement follows Cup of Joe’s successful run of sold-out concerts at the Big Dome, including its two-night “Silakbo” series and three-night “Stardust” concert series in 2025. The band became the first Filipino group to mount five sold-out solo shows at the venue within a single year, earning recognition on the Araneta Wall of Fame. For “Symphony,” the members are introducing a different musical experience by combining their familiar pop-rock sound with a full orchestral ensemble. Vocalist Gian Bernardino credited the band’s supporters, known as Joewahs, for making these achievements possible, while fellow members emphasized their goal of giving each major concert a distinct concept.
Beyond ticket sales and attendance records, Cup of Joe has continued building its reputation as one of the country’s prominent contemporary OPM acts, with songs such as “Multo,” “Tingin,” and “Misteryoso” helping expand its audience. The band’s members have also spoken about the pressure of meeting fan expectations as their popularity grows, stressing that maintaining a meaningful connection with supporters remains a priority. Both “Symphony” performances are scheduled for 8 p.m. on December 3 and 4, with tickets available through TicketNet, subject to availability. The additional date gives fans another opportunity to hear the group’s music in a concert format that brings together modern OPM and live orchestral performance.
