Chinese investor donates tiles; Malasiqui Plaza rehab, dancing fountain underway

MALASIQUI, Pangasinan — Mayor Alfie Soriano announced that a Chinese investor has donated high-end tiles for the four-story municipal building lobby, significantly cutting renovation costs and underscoring investor confidence in the local government.

Soriano said engineers from the donor group personally measured each floor to ensure precise installation. First-class materials, including granite flooring for the ground floor, will be used, with the municipal engineering office supervising the work to further reduce expenses. The mayor also visited China to inspect factories and meet with investors, strengthening ties.

An elevator will also be installed this year to improve accessibility for senior citizens and persons with disabilities.

Meanwhile, rehabilitation of the Malasiqui Public Plaza is ongoing with a ₱20-million LGU allocation. Plans are in place to build the town’s first dancing fountain worth an estimated ₱25–₱28 million, with groundbreaking eyed next month and completion targeted within six months.
