Angelina Jolie Heads to Manila for ASEAN Summit Alongside Lea Salonga and Kylie Verzosa

Hollywood superstar and humanitarian Angelina Jolie is set to visit the Philippines on November 11, 2026, joining prominent international and Filipino personalities at the ASEAN Inclusive Growth Summit in Manila.

The Academy Award-winning actress will participate in a discussion with Cambodian filmmaker Rithy Panh, her collaborator on the 2017 film First They Killed My Father. Moderated by Shamina Singh of the Mastercard Center for Inclusive Growth, their conversation will explore Cambodia’s history, community-led development, and the importance of creating lasting opportunities for vulnerable communities.

Broadway icon Lea Salonga and actress-turned-entrepreneur Kylie Verzosa are also among the summit’s featured personalities. Salonga will speak with broadcast journalist Rico Hizon about her international career and the potential of Southeast Asian creative talent. Verzosa, meanwhile, will discuss her business ventures, including shapewear brand SOLÁ and telehealth company &you, alongside her partner Emil Eriksen.

The event will also feature Filipino designers Rajo Laurel and Steffi Cua, who will discuss local creativity and craftsmanship. Business leaders Jaime Augusto and Jaime Alfonso Zobel de Ayala are expected to tackle leadership across generations, while other participants include SM executive Teresita Sy-Coson and representatives from government, business, and philanthropy.

Beyond the Hollywood spotlight, the summit puts a bigger question on the table: Who actually benefits from Southeast Asia’s economic growth? Bringing together voices from entertainment, business, government, and humanitarian work, the November 11 gathering aims to explore how regional progress can create meaningful opportunities for more communities—not just those already at the top.
