‘Amihan’, shear line to bring rains across Luzon

MANILA – The weather bureau said the northeast monsoon or “amihan” and the shear line will bring rains across Luzon on Tuesday.

“Amihan” will cause rains over Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Aurora.

Quezon will experience scattered rain showers and isolated thunderstorms due to shear line.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said moderate to heavy rains in the aforementioned areas could result in flash floods or landslides.

Meanwhile, “amihan” will also bring drizzles over Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, and the rest of Central Luzon.

The rest of the country will have isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms.

Strong winds and rough seas will continue to prevail across Northern Luzon.

Moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal waters are forecast in the eastern sections of Central, Southern Luzon, and Visayas.

Light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas will prevail over the rest of the archipelago.

PAGASA, meanwhile, said no low pressure area was monitored for possible tropical cyclone formation.  (PNA)
