Abby Binay meets AmCham on flood mitigation plans

Makati City Mayor Abby Binay-Campos attended a meeting hosted by the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) on November 27, 2024, at the AmCham Robert Sears Hall in Makati City. The event, themed “Updates on Flooding Development and Mitigation Strategies in Metro Manila,” aimed to address the challenges posed by urban flooding.

Mayor Binay presented Makati’s ongoing and future flood control initiatives, including enhanced drainage systems, rainwater catchment facilities, and disaster risk reduction programs. She highlighted the importance of public-private partnerships in funding and implementing flood mitigation projects.

The meeting was attended by AmCham Philippines Executive Director Ebb Hinchliffe, Infrastructure and Logistics Committee Co-Chair Engr. Rynor Jamandre, representatives from DOST-PAGASA, and DPWH Undersecretary Cathy Cabral.
