Caloocan City is on chemical leak watch after an ammonia leak was reported from an ice plant in Barangay 168, Deparo. Mayor Along Malapitan urged residents in affected areas to stay inside their homes, keep doors and windows shut, and wear a face mask if going outside. If you feel anything unusualโ€”especially dizziness or difficulty breathingโ€”the city is advising residents to go to the nearest health center or hospital immediately.

City responders are already on the ground. The Caloocan Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Department (DRRMO) is on-site addressing concerns, and as of 12:00 noon (April 29, 2026), officials said details are still being verified.
