MANILA – A forecaster said most areas in the country would experience warm and humid weather with isolated rain showers on Thursday.
The northeast monsoon affecting extreme Northern Luzon will cause rains in Batanes, while the shear line will bring scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms in the Babuyan Islands.
Moderate to heavy rains in those areas may result in flash floods or landslides, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.
“The rest of the country will experience warm and humid weather, and isolated rain showers due to the easterlies,” Benison Estareja of PAGASA said.
Up to 34 °C temperature is forecast in Metro Manila, Central Luzon, and Calabarzon; while Baguio’s temperature will only reach up to 25 °C.
Estareja said no tropical cyclone is expected until the weekend.
Earlier, PAGASA said the country could experience one to two tropical cyclones in December.
The weather bureau added that two to eight tropical cyclones are expected from December to May.
Meanwhile, moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas will prevail across Northern Luzon.
Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas. (PNA)
