Typhoon victims in Albay, Catanduanes get cash aid from DHSUD

MANILA – The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) on Thursday distributed unconditional cash assistance and home materials and essentials to typhoon-affected families in the provinces of Albay and Catanduanes.

More than PHP6 million worth of cash assistance was distributed to over 350 families during the Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair in Legazpi City.

Seven families from Camalig; six from Daraga; 31 from Guinobatan; 32 from Libon; 15 from Oas; 10 from Pio Duran; 33 from Polangui, and 20 from Tabaco City received PHP 30,  000 each for the repair of their totally damaged houses.

About 186 families from Daraga; nine from Oas; five from Pio Duran, and two in Polangui received PHP 10, 000 each for their partially damaged residences.

Some PHP15 million worth of home materials and essentials were delivered to Catanduanes for distribution to typhoon victims.

The DHSUD delivered worth PHP14 million of home materials and essentials in Naga City and Camarines Sur last week.

Another batch amounting to PHP22 million is set for delivery to Camarines Sur and Naga City. (PNA)
