TUPAD provides emergency employment to 48,056 in Negros Oriental

The Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has provided emergency employment to 48,056 individuals in Negros Oriental this year.

As of November 18, 2024, over PHP272 million has been disbursed to beneficiaries. Additionally, DOLE-Negros Oriental has allocated an additional PHP55.9 million for TUPAD in the fourth quarter of 2024.

The TUPAD program offers temporary employment opportunities to displaced, disadvantaged, and marginalized individuals. Beneficiaries are assigned tasks such as street cleaning, canal cleaning, and other community-based activities.

The duration of employment varies, with some beneficiaries working for 10 days and others for 15 days.
