The Partido Demokratiko Pilipino (PDP) has thrown its support behind the ongoing protest at Liwasang Bonifacio Freedom Park, saying the gathering reflects a wider public demand for justice, accountability, and good governance.
In a statement issued by Deputy National Spokesman Ferdinand S. Topacio, PDP said its support is not limited to members of the Iglesia ni Cristo, but extends to the thousands of Filipinos joining the demonstrations to express frustration over the state of governance in the country.
Topacio said the party stands with citizens calling out what it described as widespread corruption under the current administration. PDP also urged Filipinos who share the same concerns to join the peaceful assembly and make their voices heard.
The party framed the protest as a legitimate exercise of democratic rights, emphasizing that peaceful public action remains one of the people’s strongest ways to demand answers from those in power. For PDP, the message from Liwasang Bonifacio is clear: Filipinos are not only asking to be heard—they are asking for accountability.
