The Tisa City Community Affairs and Development Unit (CCADU) organized a successful information and education campaign at Tisa National High School on November 22, 2024. The event, held within the school campus, attracted hundreds of students, educators, and local residents eager to learn about pressing social issues affecting their community.

The campaign focused on key topics such as disaster preparedness, mental health awareness, environmental sustainability, and public health initiatives. The program’s goal was to not only inform but also empower students to become active participants in addressing the challenges faced by their community.

Specialists from various sectors led workshops, open discussions, and interactive sessions. One of the main highlights was a segment on disaster preparedness, where local government representatives provided safety tips for families during typhoons and earthquakes.

The topic of mental health was also emphasized, particularly in light of its increasing importance among the youth following the pandemic. Sessions provided practical advice on managing stress, seeking support, and building emotional resilience.

In addition, the campaign addressed environmental sustainability, with students being encouraged to adopt eco-friendly practices like reducing waste and conserving resources. Local environmental groups presented initiatives for students to participate in, further promoting youth involvement in environmental protection.

The CCADU’s campaign aimed to instill a strong sense of civic duty among the students, reinforcing the idea that young people have a significant role in shaping their communities. Many students expressed interest in starting their own projects to raise awareness about various social issues.

The event at Tisa National High School is part of the CCADU’s ongoing efforts to build a culture of collaboration between local government agencies and the communities they serve. More campaigns are expected in the coming months, targeting schools, organizations, and barangays throughout Cebu.
