SAN NICOLAS—Three high school students from Red Arrow High School were safely rescued after getting lost in a forested area of Barangay San Felipe East, San Nicolas, following a three-hour search and rescue operation conducted by authorities and volunteer responders.

According to reports, the students had gone to Pisi Bato, an area known for its dense vegetation and steep terrain, where they eventually lost their sense of direction. As nightfall approached, their families sought assistance from concerned agencies.

A rescue operation was immediately launched, led by the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), with support from the Philippine National Police–San Nicolas, barangay councils, and Civilian Volunteer Organizations (CVOs) from Barangays San Felipe East, San Felipe West, andCacabugaoan.

Despite limited visibility, cold weather, and thick forest conditions, rescuers continued the search until the students were located. They were subsequently escorted to safety and reunited with their families.

Authorities confirmed that the students were in stable condition and did not sustain serious injuries.

The incident prompted officials to remind the public to exercise caution when entering forested or unfamiliar areas, particularly as daylight hours wane.
