Ten individuals, including the tricycle driver and nine passengers, sustained injuries after their tricycle collided with a refrigerated delivery van in Guihulngan City, Negros Oriental, on Friday morning.

Lt. Stephen Polinar, spokesperson for the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office, identified the injured passengers as six students, a four-year-old boy, and two workers. They, along with the driver, were taken to a hospital for treatment.

Initial investigation showed that the tricycle was heading from Barangay Hibaiyo toward the city center when it attempted to overtake another tricycle, resulting in a collision with a Hino 300 refrigerated van driven by a 39-year-old businessman traveling to Bacolod City, Negros Occidental. The van’s driver was unharmed, and the vehicle did not sustain damage.

Police are conducting further inquiries to determine the full circumstances of the incident.
