Taguig City University (TCU) celebrated its 18th Founding Anniversary on December 14, 2024, with a series of events at the TLC Park Concert Grounds. The festivities included academic, cultural, arts, and sports competitions, culminating in an awarding ceremony attended by students, faculty, staff, and alumni.
Representative Ricardo “Ading” Cruz Jr. attended the event, emphasizing “the local government’s commitment to education under Mayor Lani Cayetano’s leadership.” Acting President Dr. Desiree B. Guiraldo, along with college deans, presented awards to competition winners, recognizing their achievements and contributions to the university’s vibrant community.
The anniversary festivities showcased talents of its faculty, students and staff.Notably, the Taguig City Dance Crew (TCDC) delivered a special hip-hop performance, adding excitement to the celebration.
Established in 2006, TCU offers a range of undergraduate and graduate programs across various fields, including arts and sciences, business management, criminal justice, education, engineering and technology, hospitality and tourism management, and information and communication technology.
The university plays a pivotal role in providing accessible quality education to the residents of Taguig City, as do other state universities and colleges.
