Tacloban LGU leads Christmas tree lighting amid Typhoon Kristine’s damage left in the city

Tacloban City — The holiday season officially began in Tacloban City with a Christmas tree lighting ceremony at Robinsons Place Tacloban on October 22, even as Typhoon Kristine brought heavy rains and winds to the area. Led by Councilor Aimee D. Grafil, Department of Trade and Industry Leyte Provincial Director Araceli Larraga, and Robinsons Land Corporation Regional Operations Manager Jennifer Puno, the event symbolized resilience as Tacloban continues to rebuild from past disasters, notably Typhoon Haiyan.

The lighting ceremony has become an annual tradition, fostering a sense of unity and celebration in the community. Tacloban’s residents, who have endured numerous hardships, gathered to mark the holiday season, demonstrating the city’s enduring spirit.
