Surigao City launches ‘National Children’s Month’ celebration

By Sam Ramos

Surigao City began its month-long celebration of National Children’s Month, with activities focused on raising awareness of children’s rights and welfare. The event aligns with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, signed by the Philippines in 1990, which serves as the basis for the country’s commitment to child protection.

The Philippines has made significant strides in promoting children’s rights, although challenges remain. National Children’s Month serves as a reminder of the government’s commitment to upholding children’s rights through various programs and educational campaigns across the country.
