SHFC showcases affordable housing programs in Zamboanga City

ZAMBOANGA CITY – The Social Housing Finance Corporation (SHFC) highlighted its affordable housing programs during the Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas event hosted by the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Region 9 on September 24, 2024. The event took place at the Recidencia Hotel in Zamboanga City.

Gina Lumbre, the branch manager of SHFC Zamboanga, represented the corporation’s President and CEO, Federico Laxa, in discussing the organization’s achievements and ongoing projects in the city. Lumbre emphasized SHFC’s commitment to providing accessible and affordable housing solutions to Filipinos.

The Kapihan series, which brings together various government agencies involved in housing and urban development, aims to inform the public about their initiatives and progress. Other participants in the event included the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD), the Human Settlements Adjudication Commission (HSAC), the National Home Mortgage Finance Corporation (NHMFC), and the Home Development Mutual Fund (HDMF).

SHFC is a key player in the government’s Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino Housing (4PH) program, which is a flagship initiative of President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. The corporation currently has 12 ongoing housing projects in different parts of the country, including San Fernando City, Pampanga; Davao City; and Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental. These projects are part of a larger plan that aims to deliver over 505,000 housing units by 2028.

As of September 2024, SHFC’s ongoing projects have made significant progress, and the corporation remains committed to its goal of providing affordable and sustainable housing to Filipinos nationwide.
