PASAY CITY – The Senate and the House of Representatives have adopted a Concurrent Resolution to include the ten Enlisted Men’s Barrios (EMBO) barangays in the two legislative districts of Taguig City and Pateros Municipality. This move aims to ensure that the registered voters in these barangays are not disenfranchised and to confirm the increase of councilors in each district to twelve for fair representation.
The resolution supports Ordinance No. 144, which was passed by the Taguig City Council, to include the following EMBO barangays in Taguig’s two districts: Comembo, Pembo, and Rizal in the First Legislative and Councilor District; and Cembo, South Cembo, East Rembo, West Rembo, Pitogo, Post Proper Northside, and Post Proper Southside in the Second Legislative and Councilor District.
With the inclusion of these barangays, each district will now have twelve councilors instead of eight. This increase aims to ensure fair and equitable representation for all Taguigeños and to better address their needs.
The Concurrent Resolution and the Ordinance aim to ensure that the voters in the EMBO barangays can vote for, and their residents are represented in, the House of Representatives. This will strengthen the democratic process and promote fair governance in Taguig City.
