SEC to open help desk in Naga City to enhance accessibility

By Michelle Ducut

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Legazpi Extension Office, in partnership with the Camarines Sur Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (CSCCI), will establish a help desk in Naga City by early 2025. This initiative aims to provide easier access to SEC services for clients in Camarines Sur and neighboring areas, eliminating the need to travel to Legazpi City.

Arlyn Joy Alarcon, SEC-Bicol information officer, said the help desk will assist approximately 7,700 stock and non-stock corporations. Services will include support with corporate registration, submission of reportorial requirements, payments, and navigation of SEC’s online systems, such as the Electronic Simplified Processing of Application for Registration of Company (eSPARC), Electronic System for Payment to SEC (eSPAYSEC), and the Electronic Filing and Submission Tool (eFAST).

The help desk will be housed in the CSCCI building in Concepcion Pequeña, Naga City, operating Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., excluding holidays. The CSCCI will provide logistical support, including space, equipment, and trained staff, while the SEC will oversee capacity-building programs and service quality.

In addition to the Naga City help desk, the SEC plans to open another help desk in Camarines Norte in 2025, in collaboration with the provincial government.

SEC Legazpi Director Norma Olaya said these initiatives aim to create localized resources for corporate registration and compliance, making SEC services more accessible and fostering a business-friendly environment in the region.
