Red Cross volunteer climbs roof to feed stranded dogs in flooded CamSur

A Philippine Red Cross (PRC) volunteer has garnered positive reactions after going above and beyond to rescue three stranded dogs left on a rooftop amid severe flooding in Camarines Sur. The act of compassion took place during ongoing rescue operations in the area, still inundated with floodwaters following Typhoon Kristine.

According to information gathered by Bombo Radyo Legazpi, the PRC rescue team noticed the three dogs on the roof of a submerged house, appearing hungry and unable to escape due to high water levels. Without hesitation, one of the volunteers climbed onto the rooftop to offer the dogs food, discovering a sack of pet food nearby. The dogs, visibly relieved and wagging their tails, quickly approached the volunteer as he offered them a meal.

The PRC emphasized that animals, like humans, have been significantly impacted by Typhoon Kristine, underscoring the broader consequences of natural disasters on pets and livestock. The incident highlights the PRC’s dedication to helping all vulnerable beings affected by calamities.
