Puerto Princesa City ranked 8th in infrastructure development and 9th among the nation’s most improved cities, securing its third consecutive recognition in the Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index (CMCI).

Mayor Lucilo Bayron acknowledged the efforts of city officials and the support of residents, expressing gratitude during the City Hall’s flag-raising ceremony on Monday. “Nakara-rank 9 tayo. Maraming salamat sa lahat ng mga department head at mga kawani ng pamahalaang lungsod at na-accomplish natin ito,” Bayron said.

Local officials and representatives from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), including Chief Trade and Industry Development Specialist Emma T. Lupe, presented the awards to Mayor Bayron. The recognition was formally signed by CMCI Chairman Rodolfo Maliposki.

Bayron highlighted the collaborative work of city departments and ongoing community programs, including expanded support for senior citizens, solo parents, and barangay initiatives, as contributing factors to Puerto Princesa’s sustained competitiveness.
