PRO 1 cops nab 4 of Region’s Most Wanted Persons

CAMP BGEN OSCAR M. FLORENDO, La Union —The Police Regional Office 1 (PRO1) arrested four of the region’s most wanted persons, who were facing serious charges ranging from murder to illegal drug possession.

In a statement issued today, December 4, on PRO1’s official Facebook page, it said that in Binalonan, Pangasinan, local police, in coordination with the Caloocan City Police Station Northern Police, arrested the region’s third most wanted person. The 29-year-old construction worker from Urdaneta City, Pangasinan, was apprehended for murder, a non-bailable offense. His arrest was made under a warrant issued by the Presiding Judge of the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 46 in Urdaneta City.

Meanwhile, in Bugallon, Pangasinan, joint operatives of the Bugallon Municipal Police Station (MPS), the 105th Maneuver Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 1, the Provincial Intelligence Team-Pangasinan, and the Regional Intelligence Unit 1 arrested the region’s eighth most wanted person. The suspect, a 67-year-old farmer from Bugallon, faces three counts of statutory rape, also a non-bailable offense. He was arrested under a warrant issued by the Presiding Judge of RTC Branch 68 in Lingayen, Pangasinan.

In another operation, Pozorrubio MPS, as the lead unit, with support from the Regional Intelligence Unit 1, Regional Intelligence Division PRO1, Baguio City Station 8, and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Office 1, arrested a 43-year-old high-value drug suspect from Dagupan City. The individual was apprehended for violating Section 11 of Republic Act 9165, known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, which covers the possession of illegal drugs. The suspect’s bail was set at P200,000. The arrest was made under a warrant issued by the Presiding Judge of RTC Branch 61 in Baguio City.

Lastly, personnel from the 102nd Maneuver Company of the RMFB 1, in coordination with the RID-PRO1, Technical Support Company-RMFB 1, and CIDG Baguio-CFU, apprehended the region’s second most wanted person. The 52-year-old laborer from San Juan, La Union, was arrested for violating Presidential Decree 1866, which concerns illegal possession, manufacture, dealing in, acquisition, or disposition of firearms, ammunition, or explosives. His bail was set at P180,000. The arrest was made under a warrant issued by the Presiding Judge of RTC Branch 7 in Baguio City.

These arrests highlight the ongoing commitment of PRO1 personnel to upholding public safety and security in the region, according to a statement from PRO1.

The names of the arrested individuals were not disclosed.
