President Marcos casts vote in Batac, joins over 70 million Filipinos in 2025 midterm elections

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. cast his vote early Monday morning at the Mariano Marcos Memorial Elementary School in Batac City, Ilocos Norte, joining more than 70 million registered voters participating in the 2025 midterm polls.

Marcos arrived at Precinct Number 36-A at 7:08 a.m., accompanied by his mother, former First Lady Imelda Romualdez-Marcos, and sister Irene Marcos-Araneta.

Following standard procedure, the President lined up to receive his ballot from a designated election officer and completed the shading of his chosen candidates in approximately three minutes. He reviewed the printout from the precinct count optical scan (PCOS) machine to verify the accuracy of his votes before having his right index finger marked with indelible ink.

Marcos also greeted and spoke with voters gathered outside the polling station and around the school compound. He was joined by his son, Ilocos Norte 1st District Representative Sandro Marcos.

In a video message posted the previous day, the President called on Filipinos to fulfill their civic duty by voting responsibly and upholding the integrity of the democratic process. He underscored that the elections are a platform for citizens to voice their aspirations and help shape the nation’s future.

A total of 18,280 positions are at stake in this year’s elections, ranging from senators to municipal councilors.
