3 dead after motorbanca capsizes in Alaminos

Three women died after a motorbanca overturned about two nautical miles off Bolo 2, Brgy. Pandan, Alaminos City.

The boat, Venus, carried 14 passengers and was operated by 52-year-old Melario Soliven. Authorities said it capsized due to an unbalanced load and strong currents.

Fatalities included a 45-year-old from San Fernando City, Pampanga, and two women, aged 50 and 55, from Porac, Pampanga. All were trapped and drowned.

They were declared dead on arrival at Western Pangasinan District Hospital. Charges of reckless imprudence resulting in multiple homicide are being prepared against the operator.

Chef drowns in San Fabian river

A 44-year-old chef drowned in a river in Brgy. Ambalangan-Dalin, San Fabian after swimming despite warnings.

The victim, who was with friends at a rented cottage, was reportedly drinking before entering the water. He was swept away by strong currents.

Rescuers later recovered his body near the San Fabian–Sison boundary. He was declared dead on arrival at Pozorrubio Community Hospital.

Fire hits home in Dagupan

A fire damaged the second floor of a house in Brgy. Tebeng, Dagupan City on Tuesday morning.

The 68-year-old homeowner noticed smoke before the fire spread. Responders from the police and BFP contained the blaze by 8:45 a.m. and extinguished it an hour later.

No injuries were reported. Damage cost and cause are under investigation.

Man killed in Sison road crash

A 35-year-old man died in a vehicular collision along the national highway in Brgy. Poblacion Central, Sison.

Police said the victim rear-ended a slowing van that yielded to an incoming bus. He sustained fatal injuries and was declared dead on arrival at Pozorrubio Community Hospital.

The victim was not wearing a helmet and had no driver’s license. Both drivers tested negative for alcohol.

Rider dies in Bugallon crash

A 29-year-old man died after his motorcycle crashed into an electric post in Brgy. Portic, Bugallon.

The victim, who had been drinking, was not wearing a helmet and had no license. He left around 8 p.m. and was found dead the next morning.

Police cited alcohol intoxication as a contributing factor.

Man dies in Malasiqui fire; separate blaze in Villasis

A 38-year-old man died after a fire razed his home in Sitio Kulos, Brgy. Don Pedro, Malasiqui.

He had been drinking while cooking before the fire, which likely started in the kitchen around 1 a.m. The house and two nearby structures were destroyed, with damage estimated at ₱30,000.

In Villasis, two houses were damaged in a separate fire in Brgy. Puelay. Two elderly residents were unharmed.

Authorities are still investigating both incidents.
