₱150K Solar Plant Cables Stolen in Aguilar
Police are investigating the theft of electrical cables from the PV Sinag Aboitiz Solar Plant in Barangay Laoag, Aguilar after more than ₱150,000 worth of DC cable wires were reported missing.
Authorities said about 4,000 meters of cables valued at ₱120,000 were stolen on March 5, while another 1,500 meters worth ₱38,000 were discovered missing on March 9.
The case was reported by security personnel to the Philippine National Police, which is conducting an investigation to identify the suspects.
Two Motorcyclists Killed in Bus Collision in Binalonan
Two motorcycle riders were killed after colliding with a passenger bus along the national highway in Barangay Bued, Binalonan.
Police said the motorcycle, driven by an 18-year-old student with a 23-year-old passenger, suddenly crossed the road and was hit by a bus driven by a 54-year-old driver from Abra.
Both victims, who were reportedly not wearing helmets and believed to have been drinking, were declared dead on arrival at a hospital in Urdaneta City.
Several Injured in Two Pangasinan Road Accidents
Several individuals were injured in two separate road accidents in Pangasinan on March 7.
In Barangay Cauringan, Sison, a car exiting the Tarlac–Pangasinan–La Union Expressway collided with a bus and was pushed into a parked trailer truck. The car driver and his passenger were injured and taken to Pozorrubio Community Hospital.
In Burgos town, a motorcycle driver lost control along the national road in Barangay Don Matias, injuring himself and his passenger, who was reportedly intoxicated
Bedridden Woman Dies in San Carlos Fire
A 62-year-old bedridden woman died after a fire destroyed a chapel and ancestral house in Barangay Sapinit, San Carlos City, Pangasinan.
The Bureau of Fire Protection said the fire allegedly started after a mentally ill individual entered the chapel and played with a candle.
Damage was estimated at ₱450,000. In a separate incident, a shanty house also burned in Barangay Bonuan Gueset in Dagupan City, but no injuries were reported.
Man Arrested for Shoplifting in Binalonan
A 36-year-old man was arrested for allegedly shoplifting items worth ₱2,709.55 from a store in Binalonan.
Store employees noticed the suspect attempting to leave with unpaid goods including milk, frozen meat, juice, shampoo, and liquor.
Police recovered the items along with the suspect’s motorcycle and cellphone.
Farmer Stabbed by Drinking Companion in Alcala
A 63-year-old farmer was injured after being stabbed by his drinking companion during an argument in Alcala, Pangasinan.
Police said the 46-year-old suspect stabbed the victim in the abdomen before fleeing. He was later arrested by responding officers.
The victim was rushed to Bayambang District Hospital and is under medical observation.
Four Linemen Arrested for Cable Theft in San Fabian
Four linemen were arrested for allegedly stealing telephone cables in Barangay Sagud-Bahley, San Fabian, Pangasinan.
A security guard reportedly caught the suspects cutting cables from facilities of PLDT and loading them onto a tricycle without a plate number.
Police recovered about 10 meters of cables worth ₱5,000 along with cutting tools and a ladder used in the theft. Charges are being prepared against the suspects.
