Plumber dies in motorcycle mishap in Surigao City

A 51-year-old man was declared dead on arrival at the hospital after a motorcycle accident in Purok 4, Barangay Capalayan, Surigao City, on the afternoon of December 2, 2024. The incident occurred around 3:00 p.m.

The victim was identified as Bonifacio Tremocha Chavez, a plumber and resident of Barangay Capalayan.

According to police investigations, Chavez was driving his motorcycle along a curved road in Barangay Capalayan when he veered into the opposite lane and fell into a deep creek. Witnesses reported seeing Chavez floating in the water after the accident.

Further investigation revealed that Chavez was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident. The Quick Action Response Team (QART) transported the victim to Caraga Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival by the attending physician.

The victim’s motorcycle has been turned over to his family. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the incident.
